GSIS launches GHOP for online payment of housing loans

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has made it easier for their member beneficiaries to pay for their housing loans through an application called GSIS Housing Online Payment (GHOP).

“Ang GHOP ay payment channel para makapagbayad ng monthly housing loan amortization iyong ating members,” GSIS Treasury Operations Office Vice President MAry Abigail Francisco said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

Through this application, the GSIS members need not personally go to a GSIS office to pay.

They only need to have a Unionbank account where their payment may be processed.

Francisco said that a member must first consent to the use of his/her personal information to create an account in compliance with the Data Privacy Act.

Meanwhile, if a member forgets to pay his/her outstanding loan, they may coordinate with the housing account reconciliation department of GSIS.

“Kapag nakalimutan po, ang kailangan nila ay makipag-ugnayan sa housing account reconciliation department. Matutulungan sila kung paano i-update [ang loan],” Francisco said. (PTV News)/PG-rir
