DICT ensures return of telco signals in areas affected by ‘Odette’

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ensured on Tuesday (Dec. 21) that they will make sure to return telco signals to the areas affected by Typhoon Odette.

During the Laging Handa public briefing, DICT Acting Sec. Manny Caintic said the DICT is helping telco providers in bringing their services to places whose cell sites need fixing.

DICT has also sent very small aperture terminals (VSATs) and satellite phones to places with no signal.

They will also establish free wifi sites and Tawag Centers.

“Sinusubukan matapos ngayong buwan. Ang una nating inaayos is ang power, ma-clear muna and natumbang poste ng tower, kasi hangga’t hindi natin ‘yan maayos, hindi rin sila makakakuha ng kuryente. -Report from Patrick de Jesus/PG-rir
