DOH cautions public about Christmas and New Year celebrations anew

The Department of Health (DOH) once again reminded the public to remain cautious in celebrating Christmas and the New Year.

According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, despite the low number of cases, the virus is still very much alive, especially the newly discovered Omicron variant.

The DOH advised the public who plan to go out caroling to hold it online. They also recommended that Christmas parties should be held virtually.

However, if it can’t be avoided, Christmas parties should instead be held in open spaces with proper ventilation and that minimum public health standards such as social distancing are being followed, and that everyone attending must be vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the DOH also cautioned the public to avoid prohibited firecrackers for the upcoming New Year. -Report from Mark Fetalco/PG- bny
