PASIG CITY – The City Government of Pasig will donate P5 million to victims of Typhoon Odette that recently lashed some parts of the country.

“The Pasig LGU is donating 5 million pesos to #OdettePH victims,” Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said via his Twitter account.

Mayor Vico said P1 million will be donated to each provincial government: Dinagat Islands, Southern Leyte, Negros Oriental, Surigao del Norte, and Bohol.

“We have the staff there now. In the spirit of Christmas, let’s find ways to help those in need,” Sotto added.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has noted that the number of affected individuals currently being serviced by the government is at 3.952 million.

However, the number of evacuation centers being used by people affected by Typhoon Odette is slowly going down. From 1,204 on Saturday (Dec. 25), it has decreased to 1,198 on Sunday (Dec. 26). (PIA-NCR) – bny
