NCR sees decline in COVID-19 trends

The OCTA Research Group on Monday (Jan. 17) said that the reproduction number, daily growth rate, and positivity rate in Metro Manila have gone down.

“Base doon sa datos kahapon ay bumaba iyong daily growth rate to -1% from 2%. Pero, again, hindi pa tayo puwedeng mag-celebrate,” OCTA member Dr. Guido David said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

Dati, nasa 54% siya,” he said.

David also said to expect the continued rise of recoveries, especially since Omicron has a short duration period.

Iyong incubation period niya ay mas maiksi at iyong total duration niya ay mas maiksi,” he said.

We are hoping this will be the last,” he added. – bny
