MANILA – A total of 130 workers of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) and those working for its maintenance provider have received booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In a Facebook post on Friday (Jan. 28), MRT-3 Officer-in-Charge, Assistant Secretary Eymard Eje, said providing employees with booster shots is part of their mandate to ensure the safety of workers and passengers alike.

Tinitiyak talaga natin na bakunado ang ating mga empleyado dahil tayo sa hanay ng MRT-3 ang araw-araw na sumasabak para magserbisyo sa mga pasahero (We’re ensuring that our workers are vaccinated because here at MRT-3, we are in the frontlines serving passengers everyday),” Eje said of the inoculation held at the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City on Thursday (Jan. 27).

Among the MRT-3 workers who were given booster shots were security marshals, train drivers, ticket sellers, and station personnel.

Meanwhile, for the second straight day, there were no positive results from the 96 passengers who participated in the voluntary random antigen testing for COVID-19, also on Thursday.

There were three positive results on Wednesday (Jan. 26). (PNA)  -ag
