New integrated school opened in Manay, DavOr

The provincial government of Davao Oriental and the Department of Education (DepEd) formally opened the Francisco E. Lahora Integrated School in Barangay Zaragosa in Manay town.

This, as the government continues its programs in line with its goal to provide quality education to students in far-flung areas.

The integrated school originated from the former Francisco Lahora Elementary School, and the conversion of which was facilitated thru a DepEd special order in 2021 to increase its capacity to accommodate Grade 7 learners.

In the same occasion, two new classrooms were inaugurated, which were built by the provincial government with the help of the Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc.

“This is not the only school donated. There are other schools, but it’s always a partnership. The Filipino Chinese Chamber donated and there is a counterpart from the provincial government,” Gov. Nelson Dayanghirang, an alumnus of the old school, said. – Report from Rudolph Ian Alama (PIA Davao)
