Fair weather, isolated rain showers to prevail over most of PH

MANILA – Generally fair weather with isolated rains will prevail over most parts of the country, the weather bureau said Friday (March 11).

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the shear line affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon and the Visayas will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Aurora, Quezon, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and the Kalayaan Islands.

Flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to heavy rains, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon affecting northern and central Luzon will cause light rains over Cagayan Valley, and isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of central Luzon.

“The easterlies are affecting the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao. These areas will experience warm weather, with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening,” PAGASA forecaster Ezra Bulquerin said.

PAGASA also forecast isolated rain showers over the rest of Luzon due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas.

The northeast monsoon or amihan will cause moderate to strong winds over the northern and eastern seaboards of northern Luzon.

Mariners, especially those using small sea vessels, are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions.

Over Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
