Poll ballot testing set next week

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to conduct testing on printed ballots for the national and local elections next week.

This was after complaints on the lack of witnesses from representatives of political parties or candidates during the printing of ballots.

The poll body said it will invite lawyers, media, and representatives of candidates next Thursday to select any printed ballot from its warehouse for testing to check whether or not the papers are accepted by vote counting machines.

Meanwhile, Comelec clarified that candidates must still secure permits from local government units before conducting in-person campaign activity in areas under Alert Level 1 and 2. – Report from Karen Villanda/AG-rir
