LTFRB: Distribution of fuel subsidy continues

By Pearl Gumapos

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Wednesday (March 23) reported that the distribution of fuel subsidies is still ongoing.

“Mula noong tayo ay nagsimula magbigay ng fuel subsidy noong March 15, umabot na po sa around 115,000 beneficiaries ng fuel subsidy ang naipamahagi natin,” LTFRB Regional Director Zona Russet Tamayo said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

“Para doon sa modes of public transport na nasa ilalim ng LTFRB, ongoing na po iyang [pagbigay ng fuel subsidy],” she said.

Meanwhile, Tamayo added that the agency is closely coordinating with the DILG to provide fuel subsidies for tricycle drivers as the said mode of transportation falls under local government units.

Tamayo also hopes service contracting can begin this April.

“Katulad din po ng mga previous nating pagbigay, iyon pong kilometer na itatakbo ng isang unit ay babayaran ng ating gobyerno,” Tamayo said pertaining to the compensation to be given to service contracting participants.

“If I may inform lang din, dahil sa pagtaas ng krudo, nagkaroon din tayo ng adjustment doon sa kilometer na ibibigay sa ating mga sasali sa service contracting,” she added. – bny
