DepEd suspends classes from May 2 to 13

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

The Department of Education (DepEd) announced suspension of classes in all public schools nationwide from Kinder to Grade 12 starting from May 2 to 13, 2022.

DepEd said the class suspension was made to give way to election-related activities for the upcoming May 9 polls.

This is in accordance with DepEd Order No. 29, s. 2021, which allots the said dates for national election-related duties of teachers and other DepEd officials.

Classrooms in schools are used as voting precincts, while teachers serve as inspectors during elections.

The Department said teachers are still expected to report to their respective schools on days where there are no election-related activities.- gb
