Comelec receives over 26K local absentee ballots

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has received more than 26,000 local absentee voting ballots as of 5:30 p.m. on May 3. 

A total of 26,396 ballots were received by the Reception and Custody Units of Comelec.

The ballots are filled out by the members of the Philippine Army (6,934), Philippine Air Force (2,259), Philippine National Police (14,281), Department of Education (807), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (555), Bureau of Fire Protection (17), media (809), Comelec (628), Department of the Interior and Local Government (13), Philippine Coast Guard (81), Department of Foreign Affairs (1), Public Attorney’s Office (2), and National Power Corporation (9).

A total of 84,357 voters have been allowed by the Comelec to avail of the local absentee voting.

Absentee voters only voted for the president, vice president, 12 senators, and one party-list group. -KC/gb
