Comelec asks public not to wear masks, shirts with poll bets’ name on May 9

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner George Erwin Garcia asked the public to avoid wearing face masks and shirts bearing the names of their political candidates on May 9 which is already beyond the campaign period.

During the May 4 Palace briefing, Garcia said campaigning of candidates and parties will be prohibited come May 8.  He also clarified that the Comelec will not meddle with voters’ shirt colors.

The poll official assured that all registered voters listed in precincts will be able to vote, including those with health concerns and COVID-19 symptoms.  – ag
