Set for polls: PNP opens monitoring, action centers for election

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has opened its monitoring and action centers that will serve as the “eyes and ears” in providing quick response to all election-related reports and incidents on the May 9 elections.

The National Election Monitoring and Action Center, as well as the Regional Election Monitoring and Action Centers, were opened on Thursday, May 5, in simultaneous operations spearheaded by PNP Deputy Chief for Operations LTGen. Vicente Danao, Jr.

The PNP also disclosed the deployment of police personnel, standby forces, and quick reaction teams “stationed on a 24-hour basis at the command posts in their respective headquarters.”

According to PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos, their department and all PNP stations are all ready for the nearing election day.

“We are all systems go. We have placed all police stations nationwide on Full Alert Status,” Carlos said.

The PNP has over 18,000 election frontliners reporting for duty on May 9 to ensure a safe, orderly, and peaceful elections.  –ag
