The Philippine National Police (PNP) said its Anti-Cybercrime Group is looking into the viral video of two police personnel tearing unused ballots in Cotabato City.

In the Laging Handa briefing on Thursday, May 12, PNP Spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said the incident happened under the supervision of the election supervisors.

Fajardo also said that the PNP complied with the rules of the Commission on Elections, and the tearing of unused ballots were done after the closing time of voting precincts at 7 p.m.

Fajardo said that the PNP will remain apolitical and non-partisan to provide a smooth transition of power to the next administration. – ag
