Livelihood, employment fair for Caviteños slated in Bacoor

BACOOR CITY, Cavite — A day-long “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan (TNK) Fair 2017” or job, trade and livelihood convergence fair among national and local government agencies in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon (Calabarzon) Region are up for Caviteño job seekers and business entrepreneurs on November 30.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region IV-A Public Information Officer Mia Angeline V. Cortez disclosed that the TNK Fair will highlight Employment Coaching Session, Perfume Making Training, and Crafting Beads and Jewelry at the Bacoor City Government Center.

Cortez said the event also offers business ideas and livelihood opportunities starting 8 a.m. with the DTI as lead agency.

A DTI service desk will be set up to attend to queries on and accept application for business name registration, including information and registration of Barangay Micro-Business Enterprise businesses.

A “Kabuhayan” Fair will also feature “Likhang Kabintenyo” or Cavite locally made products and crafts.

Per DTI, the TNK 2017 is a localized employment and entrepreneurial caravan that aims to foster the convergence of the various livelihood and entrepreneurship programs among government agencies.

It said the program’s strategy is to subscribe to a localized approach to employment generation in deference to local governments which know best the challenges in their respective jurisdictions.

Cavite hosts city government of Bacoor, agriculture office and Congressman Strike B. Revilla’s office lead the pack of event partners from regional offices of the Departments of Labor and Employment (DOLE); Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and other line agencies.

For its part, DOLE conducts the job fair and also encourages interested employment seekers on various livelihood-related programs.

TESDA, DSWD and the City Agricultural Office will, likewise, offer various sustainable livelihood programs and opportunities.

TESDA will also offer free massage, manicure and pedicure services for the registrants/participants. (PNA)
