NBA: Celtics advance to Eastern Conference finals, rout Bucks

The Boston Celtics got a huge game from Grant Williams’ career-high 27 points, including seven three-pointers, to go with six rebounds in Game 7 to eliminate the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks, 109-81, and advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

Backing up Williams was Jayson Tatum who had 23 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. The Celtics set a game 7 record with 22 three-pointers.

Boston trailed in the early goings of Game 7 but got their act together in the second half. They outscored Milwaukee, 61-38, in the second half.

The Celtics will next face the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals, a rematch of the 2020 East finals.

The Heat beat the Celtics in six games in that series held at the Walt Disney World.
