Filipino guard Kiefer Ravena has decided to call it a career in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

“That’s it for me! Hanging these bad boys up for my last SEA Games! Been my absolute pleasure playing for [the Philippines],” read Ravena’s Instagram post.

The 28-year-old guard was initially not part of the Gilas Pilipinas team that will compete in Hanoi but was eventually called up once again after several pullouts from key players.

He was initially gunning for what would have been his sixth SEA Games gold medal, having been part of the Philippine team in every edition of the SEA Games since 2011 in Jakarta when Ravena was only 18 years old.

Gilas Pilipinas fell short of capturing a 14th straight SEA Games gold after losing to Indonesia, 81-85.

“Thank you SEA Games for the competition, relationship and memories! 13 straight is tough to beat and I’m proud of my team! Sorry we felt short,” Ravena tweeted shortly after the defeat.

Ravena currently plays for NLEX in the Philippine Basketball Association and Shiga in Japan’s B.League. – ngs
