UP slips, DLSU maintains rank in Asian university rankings

The University of the Philippines (UP) slipped 45 spots in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University rankings, while De La Salle University (DLSU) maintained its spot.

UP went down to the 129th spot in the latest ranking. The country’s premier state university placed 84th in 2021.

DLSU, meanwhile, maintained its ranking in the 401-500 bracket.

Ateneo de Manila University was listed as “reporter” in the rankings.

According to THE, universities with the “reporter” status were “active participants in the rankings process, even though they have not been ranked this year.”

Tsinghua University and Peking University from China topped the rankings at first and second, respectively.

According to THE, 13 performance indicators were used to determine the rankings.

The universities were judged according to teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. – ngs
