The Civil Service Commission (CSC) told government workers on Wednesday, June 8, not to abuse the recently adopted flexible work arrangements for government offices.

In the Laging Handa briefing, CSC Commissioner Atty. Aileen Lizada said the commission has parameters “set in place,” along with agencies’ respective internal policies to be submitted to CSC regional offices.

“May mga parameters kasing set in place tayo. At kinakailangan pong tingnan at i-monitor ng HR [human resource] ng ahensiya once approved na iyong kanilang internal policy,” she said.

“Itong ginagawa nating ito, dapat ho iyong kawani ng gobyerno – kasi public office is a public trust, huwag po nating gamitin ito for our personal gain or benefit,” she added.

The official said flexible working arrangements were approved for the welfare of the government employees and to improve their services for the nation.

“Ito po ay ginagawa para maayos po iyong ating pagserbisyo sa taumbayan at ginagawa po ng CSC ito to protect your welfares, so huwag po nating abusuhin. That is why, it’s important po na may internal policy set by the agency,” she said.

Lizada said the new policy is only applicable to “employment with regular appointments or those that are submitted to the CSC for attestation” such as permanent, temporary, substitute, provisional, co-terminus, fixed-term, casual, and contractual. Contract of service or job order employees are not covered.  – ag
