Warm weather to prevail but rains still likely across PH

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

Most areas of the country will have fair and warm weather, but rains are still likely, the weather bureau said Friday, June 10.

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan.

“The rains will affect mostly the central and southern part of Palawan, so take precautions against possible flooding and landslides,” Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

He added that no weather disturbance is seen to develop within the Philippine Area of Responsibility until the weekend.

Estareja said Luzon would have fair weather, but localized thunderstorms are forecast in the afternoon or evening.

Temperatures could reach up to 35 °C in Tuguegarao; up to 33 °C in Metro Manila and Legazpi.

The Visayas and Mindanao will also have generally fair weather, with isolated rains.

The temperature in Iloilo, Tacloban, Cebu, Zamboanga and Davao could reach up to 32 °C.

Meanwhile, moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over extreme northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
