Lookout bulletin issued vs SUV driver in Mandaluyong hit-and-run

The Department of Justice (DOJ) issued an immigration lookout bulletin order against the SUV driver that rammed over a security guard in Mandaluyong on June 5.

The immigration order would only serve as an alert to the authorities if the suspect, Jose Antonio San Vicente, attempts to leave the country.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said that the court could issue a precautionary hold departure order if the prosecutor requests it during the preliminary investigation.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Immigration was instructed to coordinate with the DOJ National Prosecution Service and the Office of the Prosecutor of Mandaluyong City for appropriate action.

Moreover, Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesperson Jean Fajardo said that they are just waiting for the go signal for them to issue the warrant of arrest after it reaches the court.

“Sa ngayon po ay hinihintay po natin mai-file ‘yung information ng prosecutor as a matter of legal procedure and due process,” she said.

“Sa ngayon, wala pa po. Hinihintay parin po natin na mai-raffle po ‘yung kaso sa korte po at ‘yung korte po ay siya po ang […] ng warrant of arrest,” she added.

The Land of Transportation Office had already revoked the driver’s license of San Vicente on June 13, after failing to comply with the authorities for his explanation on the show cause order issued against him.

Fajardo said that they are hoping that San Vicente will face the case filed against him after their family lawyer showed up at the Mandaluyong City Police after the incident.

“We are hoping also na i-honor nila ‘yung kanilang sinabi na haharapin po nila itong kaso na ito,” Fajardo added. —Report from Gillian Geronimo/KC-ag
