PCG, MDRRMO recover lifeless body of trapped elderly in Samal

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office (MDRRMO) recovered a lifeless body of a 63-year-old man in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) on Saturday, June 18.

According to PCG Station IGACOS Commander, CG Ensign Vasit Venturillo, the dead body was identified as Rogelio Tacder from Panabo, Davao Del Norte that was trapped inside his vehicle when he accidentally accelerated towards the sea at Mae Wess Port while waiting for an incoming barge crossing from Samal to Davao.

Tacder’s lifeless body was retrieved inside his vehicle at around 6:15 a.m. and was brought to the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) for proper disposition, while his towed vehicle was turned over to the Engineering Office of Kinawitnon Wharf.– ml-ngs
