Philippine Business Hub relaunched

By Myris Lee

Philippine Business Hub (PBH), formerly known as the Central Business Portal, the country’s single digital platform for registering businesses was relaunched on Monday, June 20.

The inauguration of PBH was hosted by the Quezon City Government and led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The newly improved PBH will reduce the length of days for registering businesses from 33 days to seven days and 13 steps to only one step.

“Our role in government is to make opening this door as smooth and hassle-free and to keep it as open as possible so others can enter this world of new opportunities,” ARTA Officer-in-Charge Ernesto Perez said.

Despite the improvement, Perez said they are aiming to further reduce the turnaround time to a single day and he encouraged other government agencies to “continue working together for it to be possible.”

“Starting something completely new may be the most difficult task, but ARTA, together with our partner agencies, is doing what we can to make it swift and more efficient for the people,” he said.

A total of 703 corporations and 6,729 sole proprietorships are registered into the PBH since its launch in January 2021. – gb
