A total of 3,051 new COVID-19 cases were recorded from June 13 to June 19 with a daily case average of 436 or 82% higher than the figures on June 6 to 12, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

In its June 20 case bulletin, the DOH added 15 severe and critical cases comprising 0.50% of the new cases, as well as six verified deaths in the past week which were not recorded during the said period.

The fatalities were from January 2022, September 2021, June 2021, April 2021, and March 2021.

As of June 19, a total of 554 severe and critical patients are admitted, while 385 or 14.6% of intensive care unit (ICU) beds are occupied and 18.2% of the 22,156 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are being used.

“Pinapaalalalahan ang lahat na huwag maging kampante sa banta ng COVID-19. Bagkus, dapat natin ipagpatuloy ang tamang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards sa ilalim ng Alert Level 1,” the DOH said.

The DOH urged individuals experiencing symptoms to isolate, and told the public to wear a best-fitted mask and to stay in well-ventilated areas.

Currently, 77.81% or 70,032,274 of the country’s COVID-19 vaccinated population target have received their complete doses, while 14,853,657 have been given booster shots or additional doses.

For the A2 or senior citizens category, 77.47% of the target or 6.7 million have been vaccinated. – gb
