The Department of Health (DOH) approved on Tuesday, June 21, the administration of COVID-19 booster shots for minors aged 12 to 17.
National Vaccination Operations Center Chairperson and DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said they will prioritize immunocompromised individuals included in the said age group.
Minors aged 12 to 17 are eligible to take the booster shot 28 days after receiving their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said guidelines are already being drafted.
Meanwhile, due to the continuous increase in COVID-19 cases in the country, particularly in Metro Manila, health bureaus in the country joined forces to continue the vaccination drive for larger age groups. –Report from Mark Fetalco/KC – gb
