‘Libreng Sakay’ benefits 71-M passengers

Over 71 million passengers benefitted from the Department of Transportation’s “Libreng Sakay” program.

The “Libreng Sakay” program started last April in different regions in the country including National Capital Region-EDSA Busway Carousel, Regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 6, 7,8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, Caraga, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

DOTr Secretary Art Tugade said the program benefitted commuters, medical frontliners, and other essential workers amid the high prices of oil in the country.

Tugade said “Libreng Sakay” program also aims to give livelihood and incentives to public drivers and operators while providing commuters with safe public transportation. – gb
