PRRD awards housing units to beneficiaries in Davao

Exactly a week before his term ends, President Rodrigo Duterte led on Thursday, June 23, the ceremonial awarding of 640 housing units to beneficiaries from uniformed service units, government agencies, and overseas Filipino workers in Talomo District, Davao City.

In his speech, Duterte recognized the efforts of the National Housing Authority and its partners in completing the project despite challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Madayaw Residences is only one of the many housing projects pursued by the administration to realize its commitment to providing adequate, safe, secure, habitable, sustainable, resilient, and affordable homes to the Filipino people,” he said.

“I really tried my best to give this. Even though it’s impossible for us to provide a house for everyone, at least there are beneficiaries from all sectors of society,” he added.

Duterte also expressed hope for the next administration to “continue the things that would make our people happy.” – With reports from Mela Lesmoras–ag
