2.3-K COVID-19 cases recorded Thursday

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday, July 14, reported an additional 2,371 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases recorded from July 8 to 14 in the country to 12,254.

As of July 14, the total number of active cases has reached 16,244, including 194 severe and critical, and 16,050 asymptomatic, mild, and moderate cases.

There have been 3,725,382 total cases, 3,648,497 recoveries, and 60,641 deaths recorded since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country in 2020.

DOH data showed that Metro Manila had the highest number of new cases for July 8 to 14 with 5,234, followed by Region 4A with 2,720, Region 3 with 1,161, Region 6 with 1,106, and Region 7 with 522.

As of July 13, the national weekly positivity rate has increased to 10.6%, while Metro Manila’s positivity rate rose to 13%.

The DOH noted that it has observed a continuous case increase now averaging more than 1,700 daily in the recent week, with Metro Manila’s cases averaging 750 daily.

All areas are still under low risk case classification and low risk healthcare utilization as “total beds utilization remains at low risk at 23% utilization rate” and intensive care unit utilization at 17%. –ag
