Localized thunderstorms, ‘habagat’ to bring rains over PH

By Wilnard Bacelonia | Philippine News Agency

MANILA – The country will continue to experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers due to localized thunderstorms and southwest monsoon or”“habagat,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, July 17.

In its 4:00 a.m. bulletin, the weather bureau said Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned that possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

The whole country will have light to moderate winds from southwest to south with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The temperate ranges from 25.0°C to 32.8°C. (PNA) – bny
