New heads of MIAA, CAAP named

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. named on Wednesday, July 20, more officials to head several attached agencies of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), including the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

In an appointment letter signed by Executive Secretary Victor D. Rodriguez, Marcos Jr. picked Cesar Chiong as the acting general manager of MIAA.

Edgardo Diaz has been appointed deputy director general of CAAP, while Manuel Antonio Tamayo will also serve as deputy director general with DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista designating him as acting director general.

The Civil Aeronautics Board will remain under the leadership of Executive Director Carmelo Arcilla.

Meanwhile, the Office for Transportation Security will be under a new administrator, Ma. O Ranada Aplasca.

Marcos Jr. designated Hernani Nieves Fabia as the new administrator of the Maritime Industry Authority. –ag
