The Philippine Army and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held a rehearsal on Friday, Aug. 5, for the funeral of former President Fidel V. Ramos at the Heritage Park in Taguig City.
Over 100 uniformed personnel rehearsed the “carrying of the casket, walk towards the cassion, and the march towards the inurnment site at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.”
The former first family requested a “simple yet solemn” inurnment ceremony for Ramos.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, as well as former Cabinet members, elected officials, diplomats, and civil society leaders were among those who have paid their last respects to Ramos who died on July 31 at the age of 94.
All Army camps and installations in the country are at half-staff until Aug. 10 in line with the 10-day mourning period mandated by Marcos on Aug. 1. – gb
