LRT 2 offers free rides to students

The Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT 2) will be offering free rides to students beginning Aug. 22, the LRT Authority (LRTA) announced Wednesday, Aug. 10.

In the Laging Handa briefing, LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernando Cabrera said that they will provide free rides as they expect a high volume of student commuters as face-to-face classes slowly return.

Students may avail their single-journey free rides by presenting their student ID or proof of enrollment to the ticketing staff in LRT 2.

Cabrera reminded the public to avoid bringing dangerous or deadly weapons when riding in LRT lines for their own safety.

“Libreng Sakay” at the LRT 2 will be until Nov. 5. –KC/gb
