Isolated rain showers to prevail across PH Thursday

MANILA – Most areas in the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms Thursday, Aug. 11, the weather bureau said.

“The southwest monsoon continues to weaken, and is only affecting the western section of central Luzon,” Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

This will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bataan, Zambales, and Kalayaan Islands.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Metro Manila’s temperature could reach 33 °C; up to 32 °C in Tuguegarao; and up to 31 °C in Legazpi, Laoag and Puerto Princesa.

The temperature in Zamboanga and Iloilo could reach 32 °C and 31 °C in Tacloban, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over the western section of Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
