Reports from the Port of NAIA state that 300 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were concealed inside a wall sticker in an outbound parcel in a DHL Warehouse, while two inbound parcels of cartons and bed sheets at the Central Mail Exchange Center were loaded with ecstasy.

X-ray inspection of the outbound shipment showed white crystalline substances valued at least P2.04 million.

The other shipment, declared as “women’s and baby wear gift,” contained ecstasy worth P8.9 million. The last undeclared shipment was also confirmed to have ecstasy valued at P3.8 million.

The Port of NAIA said investigation is ongoing to arrest individuals behind the illegal trade for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and RA 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.  -ag
