DPWH, DAR turn over 5 new bridges in Palawan

Five newly inaugurated bridges under the Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo (TPKP) project were turned over to several towns in Palawan Province in a bid to “promote rural development in agrarian reform communities.”

The P60 million bridge projects, inaugurated on Aug. 17 and Aug. 18 by the Department of Public Ways and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), were handed over to Roxas, Aborlan, El Nido, and Safronio Epañola towns.

“These bridges will be able to further support the livelihood of our farmers in these identified agrarian reform areas, boosting productivity of our agricultural lands,” DPWH Sec. Manuel Bonoan said.

The ceremony was led by DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III and DPWH-Unified Project Management Office Bridges Management Cluster (UPMO-BMC) Project Director Rodrigo delos Reyes.

The projects include the 17.4-lineal meter Minarra Bridge and 22.8-lineal meter Buayan Bridge in the town of Roxas, thr 28.8-lineal meter Parasao Bridge in Aborlan, 28.8-lineal meter Cagbanaba Bridge in El Nido,  and the 28.8-lineal meter Abucayan Bridge in Safronio Española.

The bridge projects were implemented by the DPWH UPMO-BMC and DPWH Palawan 1st, 2nd, and 3rd district engineering offices. Katrina Gracia Consebido-ag
