Peso weakest since 2005

The Philippine peso on Thursday, Sept. 8, resumed its decline against the United States (US) dollar, closing at its weakest value at P57.18.

This was another record low for the local currency against the US dollar for the fifth consecutive trading day.

It pegged at P55.08 against US dollar on Oct. 27, 2005.
