Inday’s trough to bring rains over portions of Luzon, Visayas

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Bataan, and Zambales on Saturday, Sept. 10, due to the trough of Severe Tropical Storm Inday.

Based on its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Metro Manila and the rest of the country may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

As of 5:00 a.m. Inday has maintained its strength as it moves west northwestward with maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h and gustiness of up to 135 km/h.

“Ang mga pag-ulan natin dito sa bahagi ng Southern Luzon and Visayas kabilang ang Metro Manila nitong mga nagdaang oras ay dahil sa trough o extension ng Bagyong Inday,” PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

“Asahan ngayong araw na magpapaulan pa rin ito sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon and Visayas,” he added.

The hoisting of wind signals may take place over portions of Extreme Northern Luzon with Inday’s further westward movement by Sunday.

The severe tropical storm may intensify into a typhoon today and may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
