PH embassy condoles with Thailand over preschool shooting

The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok on Thursday, Oct. 6, expressed condolences and sympathies to Thailand following a mass shooting involving an ex-police personnel that left at least 30 people.

Based on reports, the incident took place on Thursday in a childcare center in the northeastern town of Nongbua Lamphu.

“We are shocked and saddened by the heartbreaking event and we are one with the Thai people in their grief as they face the painful aftermath of this tragedy,” the embassy said in a statement.

The embassy said it is coordinating with Thai authorities and the Filipino community in Thailand to find out “if any Filipino is among the casualties or injured.”

“The Embassy is ready to extend the necessary assistance to any affected Filipino national and their families,” it added.

It also appealed to the public to inform the embassy if they have any relevant details on affected Filipinos by calling the embassy’s 24/7 hotline +66-89-926-5954.  –ag
