Pres. Marcos to meet Chinese leaders in APEC summit

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders in a bilateral meeting during the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The President mentioned before the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Cambodia that one of his major agenda when he meets his Chinese counterpart is the situation in the West Philippine Sea.

Marcos will be joined by officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and former President and now Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Also expected to be discussed are the economy of the two countries and of the Asia-Pacific region.

I’m sure we’ll talk about many issues, this being APEC, the economic issues will be foremost discussed, trade and investments, and to those related to what we have right now, and how we can enhance to make it better,” Romualdez said. –With reports from Mela Lesmoras-ag
