PH economy seen to further grow this year under PBBM — economist

The Philippine economy will further grow this 2023 with the aggressive efforts of the Marcos administration, according to an economist.

During the Laging Handa public briefing on Monday, Jan. 16, Dr. Michael Batu, an economist, said the Philippines’ macro-economic fundamentals will remain strong as evidenced by the continued growth of the economy.

Batu said the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and gross national product (GNP) will continue to grow with the inflation rate also dipping.

Batu said he also sees the reopening of other sectors to contribute to the continued growth of the Philippine economy this year.

The economist said he hopes Marcos’ foreign trips could result in actual investments, which will be helpful to the economy this year.
