The suspect in the killing of 35-year old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Jullebee Ranara surrendered to Kuwaiti police authorities, according to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait.
According to multiple reports, Ranara’s burned remains were found in the desert late Sunday, Jan. 22.
“The Embassy is obtaining official confirmation from Kuwaiti authorities on the details and tragic circumstances surrounding the death of Ms. Ranara that were reported in English and Arabic news media in Kuwait,” the Embassy said.
“The Embassy greatly appreciates the swift action and response of the Kuwaiti Police, especially in the apprehension of the suspected perpetrator, and in the investigation of Ms. Ranara’s death,” it added.
The Embassy said it will continue coordinating with the Kuwaiti Government for the resolution of Ranara’s case and the release of her remains back home to her family in the Philippines.
It also extended their condolences to Ranara’s family.
