The remains of slain overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Jullebee Ranara arrived in the country Friday night, Jan. 27, the Overseas Worker Welfare Administration (OWWA) announced.

Ranara, 35, was the OFW who was discovered burned to death in the desert of Kuwait on Jan. 22. Based on the autopsy report received by the Philippine Embassy to Kuwait, Ranara was pregnant when she was killed.

OWWA Administrator Arnel Ignacio said her remains were flown from Kuwait to Dubai then a connecting flight from Dubai to Manila.

Ranara’s employers are already blacklisted in the Philippines, while her local and foreign recruitment agencies are under investigation.

Meanwhile, Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople assured that justice will be served for the slain OFW.

Ople has since reached out to Ranara’s family to provide necessary support.

The Department of Foreign Affairs earlier said it will send a lawyer to Kuwait to handle Ranara’s case.

The suspect in the killing of Ranara, the 17-year-old son of her employer, already surrendered to Kuwaiti authorities. Report from Rod Lagusan –ag
