After receiving backlash from netizens and women’s rights advocates alike, a fast food chain who went viral recently took down its controversial campaign that allegedly “objectifies” women.

In a statement issued by the fast food chain Wednesday night, Feb. 1, it said that it is “overwhelmed” with the response to the video it has released on its page.

It has since deleted its commercial video.

On Wednesday, Gabriela Women’s Partylist Rep. Arlene Brosas aired concern about the campaign ad, allegedging it “objectifies” women.

In the said ad, a social media personality is seen comparing three women to different sandwich options and vaguely describing them as the “biggest, tastiest, and meatiest.”

Brosas said the ad was “deeply offensive, triggering, and insensitive” to Filipino women who continue to experience various forms of sexual violence and abuse.
