The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is accepting scholarship applications for qualified Filipino students to pursue a master’s or doctoral course in the United States.

Grants under the Fulbright Foreign Student Program for Filipinos are for a maximum of one academic year for non-degree, one to two years for master’s, and two years for doctoral degree studies.

According to Fulbright Philippines, the grant provides for round-trip international travel, monthly maintenance allowance, and health and accident insurance.

Among the fields of study included in the grant are the Study of the United States (study of American culture, arts, law, literature, and social science among others); Global Issues (environment, human rights, peace studies, and international relations among others); and Open grants, fields of study not covered by the first two field categories with the exception of medicine-allied courses and accountancy.

Aspiring applicants must be Filipino citizens, must have a college degree with a major in field of specialization, must have an excellent undergraduate record, must have at least two years of professional work experience, and must be in good health.

Candidates must also return to the Philippines immediately upon completion of study.

The deadline for applications for the grant is on April 30. –ag
