The Philippine National Railway (PNR) will temporarily close the Gov. Pascual, Malabon to Calamba service to speed up the construction of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), according to a Department of Transportation (DOTr) official.

Pascual, Malabon hanggang Calamba,” Undersecretary for Railways Cesar Chavez said.

Chavez said that speeding up the NSCR construction could help save the government P15.18 billion.

Around 30,000 passengers are expected to be affected by the closure. -Katrina Gracia Consebido/gb
