Another Cessna plane missing

Another Cessna plane went missing on Saturday, Feb. 18, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed.

A Cessna 340 with a tail number RP-C2080 was reportedly missing after it departed from Bicol at 6:43 a.m.

According to CAAP, last contact with the plane was at 6:46 a.m., while the aircraft was abeam Camalig Bypass Road.

The aircraft, carrying four persons, was bound for Manila.

CAAP said concerned agencies and authorities, such as the local government unit of Camalig, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, Office of Civil Defense, and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council have been informed about the incident.

They are also coordinating with CAAP in the search and rescue operations for the Cessna plane.

CAAP said it also dispatched officers from its Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board to assist in the emergency that is now in Distress Phase. -ag
