OTS personnel arrested for allegedly stealing tourist’s watch at NAIA

A security personnel of the Office of Transportation Security (OTS) was arrested on Wednesday, March 1, for allegedly stealing a Chinese passenger’s watch at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.

Valeriano Diaz Ricaplaza, 31, was arrested by the Philippine National Police Aviation Security ( (PNP-AVSE) Group and the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA)-Airport Police Department.

A Chinese passenger was reportedly going through a security inspection when Ricapaza allegedly stole his watch.

The OTS Regional Heads and Terminal Chiefs said they regularly inspect, monitor, and oversee airport security screening operations, detecting illegal activities, and correcting security issues on-the-spot. –gb
