Tau Gamma branch declares Adamson chapter persona non grata

Tau Gamma Phi’s Zamboanga City Council declared its Adamson chapter members persona non grata for the murder of student John Matthew Salilig.

In a resolution released March 2, the fraternity’s Zamboanga City branch declared members of its Adamson chapter persona non grata for “inflicting great violence” against Salilig, resulting in his death.

“[The] members of Adamson University Chapter have blatantly disregarded the Code of Conduct and Tenet of our beloved fraternity and sorority resulting in the untimely demise of one of our [brothers],” its resolution read.

“[The] members of Adamson University Chapter have blatantly disregarded the sanctity of life,” it further read.

The Zamboanga City Council also demanded justice for the death of Salilig.

Salilig, 24, was a petroleum engineering student of Adamson University.

He was found dead in Imus City, Cavite on Feb. 28, days after he was reported missing.

Seven of the 15 persons of interest in the death of Salilig are already under authorities’ custody. -cf
