PCG officer to receive award in Singapore

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) CG Commodore Mitzie Silva-Campo will receive the “Global Women Empowerment Icons 2023 Award” during the Global Women Empowerment Summit (GWES) in Singapore on June 24.

CG Commodore Silva-Campo will also be recognized as an “Exceptional Woman in the Maritime Industry” during the summit.

Silva-Campo is the first female one-star general among its line officers and currently serves as the Deputy Inspector General of the PCG.

She previously held the positions of Coast Guard Internal Audit Service Commander and the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Education and Training.

She also served as the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Maritime Security.

According to the GWES, the awards recognize the exceptional accomplishments of varied women from different industries, stages of their careers, and contributions to the advancement of women.

The award-giving body aims to witness women and young people achieve divine success through fulfilling their purpose, mend their shattered lives, and achieve complete restoration. – gb
